At a press conference held in Bangalore on the 17th of October 2024 Google announced investing it’s time in India for improving it’s societal conditions. To improve societal conditions the technology will focus on uplifting the infrastructure of healthcare and the waste management.
- • For Healthcare: The increasing rate of blindness in India has forged the paranoia among the individuals of sliding slowly towards the disease. In order to help the people of India fight through the challenging times Google has leveraged it’s AI technology, adept in conducting eye screenings and predicting whether the examinee is sliding developing early symptoms or not. Additionally, Google claims the technology is capable of supporting detailed reports of the examinations to help examinees understand the precautionary measures for their eye conditions. This will contribute in cutting the rising graph of the sufferer thereby safeguarding life and improving its quality. The AI model till time has already supported 600,000 screenings and will continue to extend it’s support.
- • For waste management: Whenever you check out the survey reports you will find India occupies 1st or 2nd for waste debris collection and also the incapability to manage them. To help India, Google AI has decided to partner with Saahas zero waste, a Bangalore based waste management organization works to manage the waste amplification and build a cleaner, greener environment. The AI model named Circularnet will work through to recycle the collected plastics leading to helping the environment emerge pollution free. The technology is configured with the machine learning algorithm making it adept in understanding the quality and form of materials in process and accordingly segments the streamlining. A prediction by Sujit Sanjeev, Google’s lead for Circularnet states the pollution management will increase by 10-12% which will contribute towards a safer and better surrounding.
