Uber Eats is entering the drone delivery market through a strategic partnership with Flytrex, a leader in autonomous aerial logistics. This is Uber’s first investment in drone technology and represents a significant expansion of its delivery network. The pilot program will begin in select U.S. cities by the end of 2025. Although Uber has not disclosed specific launch locations yet, its strategy targets suburban zones, regulatory-friendly regions, and high-demand delivery markets.

Flytrex’s drones are FAA-certified for Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS), enabling safe, scalable operations across communities. It has completed over 200,000 drone deliveries, proving its reliability and operational safety across suburban areas. Sarfraz Maredia, Uber’s President of Autonomous Mobility, emphasized that Flytrex enables scalable, fast, and sustainable delivery for Uber Eats. Therefore, Uber plans to integrate Flytrex’s autonomous drones into its platform to enhance last-mile logistics efficiency.  Also, Uber confirms that there will be no price difference between drone and courier deliveries for consumers.
